Summer is here and the cookouts (at home at least this year) are in full swing. Many of you may be looking for healthy options to the standard beef patty hamburgers. The mistake most people make is they just look for a vegan or vegetarian patty option. The misnomer is that vegan and vegetarian are synonymous with healthy. These products can be loaded with all types of products and fillers that are in fact not healthy. My advice is to read the ingredients carefully and opt for the one with the least amount of ingredients and ingredients you are familiar with. Alternatively, you can look for recipes online and create your own version, use the vegetarian steak option of portobella mushrooms, or if fish is a go, try a delicious salmon burger. Whatever you choose, eat guilt-free (because that changes how you digest your food) and enjoy your meal!
